VMI develops and produces novel guidance and positioning systems for use in orthopaedic, neurosurgical and cardiovascular applications. The proprietary devices assist in the accurate placement of a variety of medical devices such as implants, catheters and microsurgical instruments. It is anticipated that these placement devices will be used in both minimally invasive procedures and as surgical
assist devices. Vector Medical will focus its first device on the $620 million orthopaedic internal fixation market. Specifically, a product has been designed and prototyped for the distal anchoring of intramedullary nails which are very difficult to place. It is anticipated that this device will dramatically reduce operative
time for this very time consuming procedure.
